I
am an experienced, professionally qualified, full-time shiatsu practitioner
with a thriving practice based in Staffordshire, (Biddulph).
I am on the
Register of the Shiatsu Society (MRSS)
(www.shiatsusociety.org) . I am a graduate of Nottingham University (BSc and PhD)
and also have teaching qualifications.
I came to shiatsu
relatively late in life, after around 20 years working in various
jobs in industry, the last of which was as a medical writer. Although
these jobs were fun and gave much opportunity for travel, which
I have always thrived on, I do not miss the deadlines or the daily
grind. I find being a shiatsu practitioner immensely fulfilling
and I get great pleasure in helping people regain their physical
health and mental equilibrium.
In addition to my shiatsu practice I tutor shiatsu students and run shiatsu workshops as well as teaching anatomy, physiology and pathology to complementary health students primarily at the Shiatsu College Manchester, a branch of the internationally renowned umbrella group The Shiatsu College (www.shiatsucollege.co.uk)
My interest
in Tai Chi and Qi Gong started over 20 years ago and I have
trained with various highly experienced teachers. My focus is now
on Tai Chi for health and relaxation. I run workshops and tutor individual students from beginners onwards.
On a more personal
note I never seem to have enough time for my garden, which might
reflect the amount of time I spend on local enviromental projects and walking with my dog, Charlie.
